EDM Group has been providing document imaging services for over three decades. The company in its current form began trading in 2004 following the acquisition of two well-established services providers: Storwave and Micro-image Business Solutions (MBS). The EDM Group management team was advised by Grant Thornton and backed by one of the UK's leading private equity providers, ECI Partners.
These two acquisitions provided document conversion centres in the North West, South East and South West of the country, together with the most advanced hosting technology identified in the UK by the management team and supported by a highly experienced, highly skilled technology development team.
These acquisitions were then bolstered by a further acquisition in August 2004, that of AMI – The Advance Group, based in Wolverhampton. AMI was at the time the second largest specialist electronic document management company in the UK and its addition to the other two acquisitions enabled EDM Group to firmly establish itself as the largest and leading specialist electronic document management company in the country.
In 2007 EDM Group acquired Business Designs, a business process management solutions design and development consultancy, specialising in the implementation of workflow solutions deployed on the Metastorm BPM platform.
To meet customers' evolving requirements, EDM Group moved its head office functions and Midlands production and development services to new purpose-built facilities in 2009. The Company is now based across five sites, in Blackburn, Poynton (Cheshire), Aldershot and two locations in Wolverhampton. |
